Adulthood was just around the corner, as I was getting ready for my prom night. Multiple tries, and I found what was a dress that begged for a fun night of celebrations with friends with whom I shared the last 6 years with. A marker of time, of a transition from one stage of life to the next. The dress, mid length, with its multiple layers of flowy fabric made me feel like a modern Marilyn Monroe. It was full sunshine, in Glasgow and in my heart, entering the party venue, with a silent “I want to be forever young” playing in my head. A simple dress, but one that carries one of the most important transitions of my life. Hope, naivety, the high spirits of being young and so much more.
